Oil on canvas - Title: « » - Dimensions: 60 X 80 cm. Author: Franco Balleri (1940) Franco Balleri, painter and sculptor, rare works - Here are some reviews: Franco Balleri, a genius painter, but above all a builder of wooden machines. These are divided into static installations, where the figures in his paintings seem to take shape in three dimensions, and dynamic installations that, thanks to complex mechanisms, bring to life original "fuel-less engines." Balleri's idea is to design engines that can be powered by minimal forces, then multiplied by the action of pistons and pulleys. "I am not an engineer, " Balleri states, "but I would like a mechanic in the future to be inspired by my machines to create real engines, using appropriate materials and considering the laws of physics." In discussing with the artist, one is struck by his complete lack of exhibitionism and ambition, almost by his indifference to the exhibition and showcasing of his works. His only love is art. Inspiration flows uncontrollably, and it is impossible not to respond by giving birth to various works, as if resistance were irresistible. Exhibiting, receiving critiques, or appearing in catalogues matters little to Balleri, who thus demonstrates his nature as an authentic artist, wholly devoted to his creations. Franco Balleri has been a painter and sculptor, creator of the "Impossible Machines" for a long time. He is rarely seen on stage. His sculptures are nothing more than manual mechanisms that move silently, or rather, with respect for the viewer. In these movements, one fantastically perceives the life that animates. His paintings, equally joyful and vibrant, are of a communicative energy.
