Beautifully played keyaki wood go game board, complete with 碁石入れ (goseki-ire) for storing the black and white stones. The boxes with lids are made of bakelite and contain 181 black stones and 180 white stones. The keyaki wood game board dates back to the 1930s and has a charming, well-played appearance. The solid wood block is finished with elegantly crafted legs. Keyaki is a rare and highly sought-after wood species from japan, seldom exported. This set holds significant decorative value and can, of course, still be used for play, providing the ideal opportunity to experience a japanese tradition in an authentic way. Dimensions: height 23 cm, width 45 cm, depth 40 cm.
