Beautiful old seaside marine painting from the 20th century. Oil on hardboard, signed lower left S.GAUTIER, representing a bird's eye view of the rocky coast in Brittany from the Pointe du Raz with the turret of the Plate, a beacon also called "Petite Vieille" which accompanies the Vieille lighthouse, listed as a historic monument. Beautiful dynamic composition in a period frame in white patinated wood. Overall in its original condition. Has retained the traces of its past. Crack in the hardboard at the bottom left over 12 cm. Old frame also showing signs of wear (wormholes, paint and varnish drips, imperfect cutting of the corners) Total dimensions: Frame: 56 cm X 71 cm Hardboard: 46.5 cm X 61 cm Weight: 2.300 kgs.
