Suspension in Rotaflex consisting of a flattened round lampshade in ivory colour and its canopy, France, circa 1960. Rotaflex is an innovative plastic material made of wrapped cellulose acetate threads. Light and translucent, it diffuses light softly and gives the suspension a very characteristic ribbed relief. Developed in the 1950s by the Atelier de Recherche Plastique, it is part of the research conducted around new materials by Pierre Guariche, Joseph-André Motte, and Michel Mortier. Adjustable height. Bayonet socket. Edition: Rotaflex, France, circa 1960.
