Large stoneware vase designed by Nils Kähler for the famous Danish manufacturer Kähler in the 1960s. Founded in 1839, Kähler is one of the most important ceramic manufacturers in Denmark. The company distinguished itself throughout the 20th century by the quality of its craftsmanship and its collaborations with several prominent Danish ceramists, developing an aesthetic that has become emblematic of Scandinavian design. This vase perfectly illustrates that heritage. Its elongated cylindrical silhouette is animated by a play of contrasting textures and glazes: a deep brown upper part with a fine texture paired with a lower part decorated with a geometric relief pattern in ochre and tobacco tones. The elegant proportions and tactile richness of the surface give the piece an almost architectural presence, typical of Scandinavian ceramics from the 1960s. A very beautiful decorative object that can be displayed as a vase or ceramic sculpture.
