Compactom boat wardrobe, unmarked but meeting all the construction codes of this brand, named after a British shipowner. This mahogany wardrobe is an old lady that has brilliantly withstood the years and lived several lives… It dates from the late 19th or early 20th century. It was fully dismantlable to fit through the ship's corridors and reach the cabins. Elegant and very practical Art Deco Compacton wardrobe, featuring a characteristic sliding and compartmentalised interior system designed for perfectly organised clothing storage. This example retains a rich and complete interior layout, with many original labelled compartments. The doors are deep with storage: tie rack, mirror, and shelves. The left interior side is a wardrobe that unfolds when the door is opened, with a mirror allowing one to appreciate oneself standing, as well as hooks for slightly heavier coats. The right side has glass shelves with period labels in English and open shelves with file folders. Each type of clothing has its compartment: hats, trousers, jackets, ties, handkerchiefs… As for shirts, they are stored folded and flat in a folder.
