French gold mirror with a Louis XVI style pediment c. 1940/50 (95*54 cm)

A true marvel and almost as good as new. This French mirror, in gilded wood and partially painted in light green, is a replica of the famous originals from the Louis XVI period. Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, this type of gilded mirror with a large pediment and various floral elements and decorations continued to be made, as they are very decorative and highly valued pieces that have had and continue to have great success. This is clearly an old stock from a decoration shop as it still retains the original labels with its price in old French francs, both on the glass and on the back. This currency ceased to be used in 1960, so it is certainly from before that year, probably from the 1940s/50s. Ideal for a bathroom or toilet, placed on a console or a chest of drawers. Of high quality, the gilding and painting are perfect, as is the glass, which is free of scratches. It also retains its wooden back. As if it has just come out of the workshop... Or almost.
