Set of Napoleon III style seats in Rope Twist: armchair & Chesterfield sofa.

We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely set of Napoleon III style seating from the early 20th century in Rope Twist. A magnificent set, the armchairs are sometimes available, but a sofa or two-seater is a rarity. The pair is in sublime condition, each piece of wood is hand-carved in a Rope Twist design, the upholstery is original, of the Chesterfield buttoned or tufted type, and beautifully decorated. We have cleaned, waxed, and polished the wood from top to bottom, the upholstery is in good condition and stain-free. Armchair dimensions: Height: 82 cm, Width: 73 cm, Depth: 67 cm. Two-seater sofa dimensions: Height: 83 cm, Width: 61.5 cm, Depth: 122 cm. Please note that all measurements are taken at the widest point. Note that vintage and original leather items have a natural patina with cracks, creases, and wear; we recommend regular waxing to preserve moisture and advise against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for hand-dyed leathers as they may dry out and discolour.
