Pair of modernist chairs from the 1930s, mustard yellow seats.

Pair of modernist chairs from the 1930s, probably made in Czechia, in the former Czechoslovakia. The designer and manufacturer are not identified. Their wide, curved backs give these chairs their character. The rounded angles soften the straight lines of the structures, while the open space under the backs lightens their silhouette. In profile, the legs extend into slightly curved rear feet. The wood has a deep brown hue and expressive grain, particularly visible on the backs and front rails of the seats. The mustard yellow fabric highlights the warm tones of the wood. The enveloping backs and padded seats provide very good comfort at the table. Both chairs have been recently restored. The wood has received a new finish with shellac varnish, and the seats have been covered with new mustard yellow fabric.
