Restored Gainsborough office chair with hand-dyed leather.

We are offering for sale this magnificent Gainsborough armchair handmade in England around 1900, fully restored, in hand-dyed whisky-coloured leather. The frame is made of beech with fluted legs. The leather has been laid flat, hand-nailed, then hand-dyed six times, antiqued, sealed, waxed, and polished. This is the only armchair of its kind in the world with exactly this colour finish. The padding at the top of the backrest has sagged over time. The wooden frame shows signs of original wear, and it has been repolished, which adds to the look and feel. Dimensions: Height: 103 cm, Width: 60 cm, Depth: 74 cm, Seat height: 49 cm. For any additional measurements, please ask. Please note that hand-dyed leather should not be exposed to direct sunlight for long periods as it dries out and discolours. The armchair is in good condition with wear consistent with age and use.
