Artisan-made pyrite stoneware teapot. Organic shape, with a ribbon handle and short spout. Glazed in a light speckled tenmoku – a Japanese-inspired glaze with beige-khaki reflections punctuated by brown and black ferruginous spots – it offers a vibrant and unique finish, typical of the wabi-sabi aesthetic. Although unsigned, it shows signs of shape and glaze that link it to the works of prominent ceramists active in Puisaye during the 60s-70s. In good condition, with a shiny and well-preserved glaze, there is a chip on the edge of the spout (see photos). Length from spout to handle 26 cm, height 11 cm, depth 9 cm, base diameter 9 cm. An iconic teapot with a light tenmoku glaze, ideal for a chic slow living and minimalist decor.
