The Ingram chair by Charles Rennie Mackintosh is part of the "Cassina i Maestri" collection, which brings together a selection of the most significant pieces of furniture created by the key figures of the Modern Movement, which have become foundational references in design. The "Cassina i Maestri" collection has allowed for the recovery of original values, offering faithful reconstructions of furniture and objects capable of transmitting intact the messages of innovation and anticipation rooted in the proposals of the Masters. The chair, a focal point in Cassina's production programme, represents the central point where spatial action is most coordinated: it is here that the mastery of composition always culminates. The exclusive reproduction rights for Mackintosh chairs and furniture were acquired by Cassina, a leading international Italian brand, in 1972. The "Masters" collection, designed in 1900 by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, an architect, designer, and artist from Glasgow born in 1878 and a major representative of the Glasgow Movement, a precursor to the Modern Movement, was created. He designed the Ingram for the Ingram Street tea rooms of Miss Cranston, a prestigious tea room located on Ingram Street in Glasgow. The version of the four iconic chairs we offer is the Ingram-Low, produced by Cassina in ebonised ash with a seat covered in black leather. Wear consistent with age and use.
