Art Nouveau Secretary

Typical Art Nouveau secretary from the Nancy school, featuring sculptures decorated with leaves and plane tree achenes. Beautifully designed with organic lines characteristic of Art Nouveau, this piece of furniture is in very good condition and opens to reveal a drop-down front with three compartments and six drawers at the front. The drawers feature large bronze handles that echo the floral motif sculpted on the front of the drop-down section. This secretary is made of cherry wood, similar to some creations by Camille Gauthier, and can be attributed to this key figure of the artistic period and right-hand man of Louis Majorelle before he ventured out on his own.
