Dining set "Samara" Derk Jan de Vries for Maisa Di Seveso Milano

Derk Jan de Fries was a Dutch designer who emigrated to Italy. Today, very little biographical information is available about him. He worked for the Italian manufacturer Maisa Di Seveso Milano. His series "Samara," created in 1977, is his most famous work. This design, of great finesse, is characterised by elegantly and harmoniously formed angles. The pieces are entirely made of solid ash and surfaces of Viennese caning. The table can be extended thanks to an ingenious folding mechanism, thus offering an optimal configuration for six chairs. A set like this, in such excellent condition, is extremely rare and constitutes a true collector's item.
