Very beautiful modernist stoneware vase, representing high-quality craftsmanship that highlights the material and the gesture. This vase stands out for its balanced sculptural shape and particularly sought-after surface work. The piece plays on an alternation between the raw stoneware and a wide diagonal band of glaze, creating a strong contrast between matte and shiny, sobriety and vibrancy. The unglazed stoneware section reveals the natural texture of the material, while the diagonal area is animated by controlled drips of glaze in pink, violet, and ochre hues, applied as a graphic accent. This opposition of materials and finishes reflects a genuine artistic thought, characteristic of modernist ceramic research. The vase is signed underneath the base, with an incised signature before firing, attesting to an artist's work, the author is yet to be identified. It can be used as a soliflore but is equally appreciated as a decorative sculptural object when presented alone. Characteristics: Period: circa 1930–1950. Material: partially glazed stoneware. Technique: alternation of raw stoneware / glazed diagonal decoration. Signature: incised under the base (artist unidentified) Dimensions: Width of approximately 16.0 cm, Height of 10.0 cm, Depth of 4.0 cm at maximum. Weight: 741 grams. Condition: very good condition. Careful and tracked shipping.
