Vase-sculpture in sandstone by the spanish painter and ceramist, vicente gomis casasempre, known as vigreyos. Starting from a rectangular shape, vigreyos the pod, kneads it, fractionates it, scarifies it, creating areas of shadow and light. However, the blue and brown enamels partially affixed to this tormented form, bring it a great softness. This unique piece, which dates from the early 1980s, is signed under the base "vigreyos". Spanish painter and ceramist born in 1935, vigreyos studied science in spain, then literary. He traveled throughout europe and studied french at the sorbonne. From 1961, he pursued an artistic training at the school of fine arts in boston, and obtained a master of fine arts from columbia university in new york. Back in northern europe, then in france, he became more and more interested in ceramics, and settled in the castle of la coste in noailhac in corrèze, which he undertook the restoration. Vigreyos is considered one of the great major contemporary spanish ceramists. He participates in all important international events. His works are exhibited all over the world: united states (boston, new york), europe (spain, france, italy, belgium, united kingdom, germany), japan, australia, chile. In 1981, he bought and restored a stable in collonges where he exhibited his works until 2005.
