Astrolabe Table by Oscar Tusquets, Aleph Collection, Driade Edition – 1988

The Astrolabio table, designed by Oscar Tusquets in 1988, is an emblematic piece of Spanish postmodern design. Its circular tempered glass top is adorned with a large starry motif, graphic and hypnotic, reminiscent of ancient astronomical instruments. This magnificent compass rose illuminated on the frosted glass is encircled by an elegant metallic border. The conical metal base, resting on a wide circular base, provides the table with perfect stability while asserting its sculptural character. The whole piece plays on contrasts between transparency and opacity, between geometry and mystery, and stands out as a work of art in its own right within a contemporary or eclectic interior. Designed in the late 1980s, this original edition has never been reissued, making it a rare and sought-after piece among collectors.
