This african musical instrument seems to be a balafon (a kind of xylophone found in many parts of africa), it was probably brought back in the 50s. You will notice a nice patina. The balafon is a kind of xylophone native to west africa. It consists of 16 to 27 wooden blades, producing as many different notes, which are hit with chopsticks and whose sound is amplified by gourds arranged underneath. This instrument has not been restored, note wear and friction, scratches, cracks, traces of paint, bites on some balls, a broken hook, however it remains acceptable.
