Hello, here is an old srd jar.. For "supply reserve depot". It contained rum and was intended to supply the British army in the 1940s. The depot was located in Normandy. When the English retreated, the depot was looted by the locals. These jars were made from 1847 to 1950 by the famous potter George Skey located in Wilnecote Tamworth. This example has some dents on its top, as well as some scratches, visible in the various photographs. Thank you for your visit.
