COD: 0777 Antique Italian painting from the 17th century. Oil on canvas artwork depicting a biblical subject, Abraham driving out Hagar and Ishmael, of excellent pictorial quality. According to the story of Genesis, Abraham, at the behest of his wife Sarah, was forced to drive away the Egyptian slave Hagar, from whom he had previously had the little Ishmael, so that Isaac would not have to share his father's inheritance with him. Painting of great pictorial intensity, full of pathos, characterized by a strong contrast of chiaroscuro. Painting of great size and impact adorned with an ancient, non-coeval, carved and gilded wooden frame. Artwork that has undergone a conservative restoration, relining, replacement of the stretcher and color recovery in some places (see photo). Ideal painting to be placed in a large living room or studio, for antique dealers, interior decorators and collectors of ancient religious painting. In good condition. Sight size H 102 x W 145 cm.
