Mirror trumeau and landscape painting – Faux marble decor – 19th century. Important wooden trumeau with a mirror, featuring in its upper part a painting depicting a lakeside landscape animated with figures and sailing boats, and in its lower part a large rectangular mirror. The whole is framed by an imposing structure in painted wood with a faux marble decor in cream, ochre, and pink tones. The inner frames are highlighted by a sculpted frieze with a repetitive motif, while the side posts are adorned with vertical panels imitating marble, embellished with small decorative motifs in the corners. The upper part is topped with an overhanging moulded cornice. The painting, executed in soft tones, represents a rural scene by the water with houses, boats, and figures. A trumeau of beautiful dimensions, very decorative, which will bring a lot of character to a large room, an entrance, or above a fireplace. Period: 19th century. Materials: painted wood, faux marble decor, mirror, and canvas painting. Dimensions: H. 149 × W. 135 cm. Condition: used condition, with traces, wear, and small visible old alterations, consistent with the age of the piece. The painting and the mirror also show an old patina.
