Pair of fine earthenware dishes – Landscape decoration, HBC France, early 20th century. An elegant pair of finely crafted earthenware dishes with a scalloped shape, featuring pierced side handles, adorned with delicate landscape decorations rendered in shades of black. Each dish presents a different scene: – one depicting a lively landscape with fortifications and a river, – the other a bucolic landscape with trees by the water. The decoration, finely executed in a style reminiscent of engraving or wash, is framed by a wavy rim highlighted with a black line, giving the whole a beautiful classical harmony. Mark on the reverse HBC France (Hippolyte Boulenger & Cie, Choisy-le-Roi), a manufacturer renowned for the quality of its productions. Dimensions: approximately 28 X 22 cm. Period: early 20th century. Condition: Good overall condition. Some slight signs of use and small marks of time visible, without cracks or restoration. These decorative dishes can be used for wall presentation or as a centrepiece, adding an elegant and timeless touch.
