Limoges porcelain vase signed by Camille Tharaud: 1920s/30s. Camille Tharaud (1878-1956) is a major figure in French ceramics known for revitalising Limoges porcelain. A pioneer in the use of coloured glazes, he manages to deeply tint the glaze in a single firing (grand feu) at 1400 degrees. The result gives the hues great depth and softness. This piece, in shades of blue, is enhanced with gold. Signatures on the base. Very good condition, beautiful shine, no chips or cracks; note a tiny crack inside the neck in the porcelain that occurred during drying (imperceptible / see zoomed photo, but it is not a crack and does not weaken the piece). Dimensions: Diameter 18cm X H23cm. Careful shipping.
