Solid pine kitchen sideboard with two doors and internal shelves, originating from Central Europe and dated to the early 20th century. An exceptional vertical storage piece, halfway between a bedroom wardrobe and a utility cabinet, representative of Central European vertical utilitarian furniture with serene architecture. In Central European homes in the early 20th century, tall two-door cabinets were practical solutions for vertical spaces, making use of the high ceilings typical of the time. They were used in bedrooms to store clothes and textiles, in expanded kitchens for utility storage, or in the dressing rooms of main houses. The exceptional height — nearly 1.83 metres — allowed for significant storage capacity without occupying useful floor space. Pine was the preferred local wood for its availability and noble ageing. It is constructed from solid pine with two built doors and panels that close on original wrought iron hinges. The interior features shelves — some original, others replaced during its useful life — to compartmentalise the space. Details. Dimensions: Width: 116 cm Depth: 50 cm Height: 183 cm. Style: Functional rustic, Central European vertical furniture. Materials and techniques: Solid pine; two built doors and panels; original wrought iron hinges; internal shelves; traditional joinery. Place of origin: Central Europe. Period: Early 20th century. Date of manufacture: Circa 1910. Condition / Observations: Good. Original patina, solid wrought iron fittings, stable vertical structure, full functionality. This piece is part of the Amaru Antiques collection, Barcelona. UNIQUE PIECE.
