Solid wood press screw seat

Stool made from a 19th-century solid oak press screw, repurposed as an interior piece of furniture. The oak screw, hand-carved, forms a beautifully regular threaded shaft — its successive rings create a play of shadows and light that gives it a true sculptural presence. The patina is dark and deep, nourished by over a century of use. Some natural cracks in the wood serve to remind of the piece's age, without compromising its solidity. A unique piece that works equally well as a stool, side table, or sculpture support. Height 52cm Base width 12cm X 12cm.
