Authentic Persian Naïn carpet from Iran, made of wool and silk, circa 1960, handwoven - 135 cm (including fringes) x 90 cm. Sold with its wax-sealed certificate of authenticity. In very good condition, with long, fine fringes. These carpets are hand-knotted in workshops in the city of Naïn in central Iran, near Isfahan. They are generally very light, with a base colour of off-white or dark blue, featuring a central medallion. Their high knot density and the finest materials make them luxury carpets. They are made in most dimensions and are among the most beautiful carpets in the world, highly sought after by collectors. They contain silk elements. This carpet is in stunning shades of blue, taupe brown, and cream white. The back of the carpet has been photographed to showcase the knot density, which reflects a very high-quality artisanal work.
