Lamperti Farfalle pendant lamp model 9475 from the 1980s with an adjustable drop and distinctive white perspex shade elements. The special construction creates both direct and diffused light. The design has a clear Space Age signature and combines lightness with technical precision. This pendant lamp was designed by the internal design team Des-in Line for Lamperti, an Italian company founded in 1929 near Milan. The wing-shaped shade elements are executed in white methacrylate and perspex. The suspension system and construction are made of black lacquered metal, with plastic connecting components; the bracket used to operate the pull mechanism is finished in chrome-plated metal. The lamp is height adjustable via a pulley and pull system, with the drop adjustable from 65 to 190 cm. The dimensions without cord are 64 × 51 × 30 cm (W×D×H), and the lamp is marked Lamperti on the shade and inside the ceiling canopy; source: Lamperti catalogue, 1980s, pages 42 and 43. The condition of this pendant lamp is very good; there is a small crack in the ceiling canopy (see photo).
