Magnificent and rare antique wall-mounted holy water font from the early 20th century, 1900-1930, made of white porcelain biscuit. Baroque style. German manufacture of very high quality, marked Germany on the reverse with a blue painted monogram reminiscent of early 20th-century Meissen-inspired productions. A rather rare model featuring two angels in high relief holding a large shell of the holy water font, glazed on the inside to hold holy water. Very fine biscuit, translucent in the light, delicate drapery, gentle faces, and finely detailed wings, remarkable finesse of execution.
