Coffee table guéridon in rosewood, transitional style – early 20th century

This oval side table in rosewood perfectly embodies the spirit of the Transition style, where the rocky curve softens to herald the forthcoming rigor of the Louis XVI style. Its top, with a wavy outline, features beautiful floral marquetry in light wood on a butterfly veneer simulating diamonds. It is encircled by a light-catching band that highlights the richness of the rosewood. The curved belt, accented with chiselled bronze, adds a supple and refined line. The slightly curved legs are enhanced by beautiful bronze drops adorned with a ribboned bow and floral garlands. They finish with a small fitting that extends the elegance of the decor. The stretcher shelf, also encircled by a band, ensures perfect harmony between balance, finesse, and functionality.
