Elegant French side table with two tiers in Louis XV style, dating from the late 19th century or early 20th century. The circular top is covered with a sunburst veneer radiating from a small central circular motif, set within a darker wood border. Four slender cabriole legs support gilded bronze decorations with foliage at the shoulder. The lower circular shelf is removable. The table can therefore be used at two levels or as a simple guéridon. Made in France from wood, with decorative veneer on the top and gilded bronze mounts. The lower shelf is an independent circular top. Height 71 cm. Diameter of the top 51 cm. It naturally fits as a side table next to a sofa or armchair, as a lamp table, bedside table, or as a support for a vase, books, or a decorative object. With the shelf, it offers a second level. Without the shelf, it becomes a lighter table with a single top. In good overall condition considering its age. It is sturdy and ready for use. The upper top retains a beautiful sunburst design, with only slight signs of use. The removable shelf shows more visible wear to the varnish, with some dulling and marks of use.
