Continental Buffet in Carved Oak Circa 1800 with Military Panels

We are delighted to offer this lovely continental buffet made of hand-carved oak with military-style front panels. A skillfully crafted piece, it is a true work of art that looks magnificent from every angle. It is continental, most likely Austrian or Dutch, a very popular style classified as folk art. The oak panels at the back clearly show their age, making it an impressive piece for enthusiasts of very old wood. In terms of condition, it has been cleaned, waxed, and polished from top to bottom, with an obvious patina of use and age for a piece that is 220 years old. There are signs of woodworm over 100 years old, treated again as a precaution, with cracks due to wood shrinkage, which is quite normal for an authentic piece from this period. Please note that vintage items like leather seating always have a natural patina with creases and wear. We recommend annual waxing to retain moisture and advise against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight as this dries out and fades the leather.
