Green glazed terracotta oil jar

Sublime oil jar, or conscience, in green glazed terracotta with its carrying rope. The name conscience comes from the fact that monks used these jars to distribute oil to people who gave according to their conscience. The handles and the rope were used to hang them from a donkey. Excellent condition Height 35cm, diameter 30cm.
