Oil jar called "conscience". Provence 19th century" in glazed earthenware, pot-shaped and honey-colored, provided on each side with 3 handles. Perfect general condition. Height: 30 cm. Width in the middle: 26 cm. Its history: These magnificent potteries are called “consciences " because in the 15th century the monks used them to collect olive oil intended for the subsistence of the poor, passing from house to house. Everyone gave in conscience. The handles made it possible to hang them on the back of a donkey.
