The painting, large oil on cardboard panel, illustrates a captivating still life, with in the foreground, a plate filled with fruit, an old tobacco jar with writing on it, tobacco of Virginia 1797, decorated with flowers. a blue pheasant tied by the feet, and on the right, a plate hanging on the wall and finally a blue jar placed on the table. The general atmosphere of the painting evokes a feeling of serenity and pleasure, evoking the ephemeral beauty of nature. It is signed lower right m des ombiaux, for maurice des ombiaux (1868-1943) Belgian journalist, writer and artist. Please note that the painting is presented here with a frame to have a photographic rendering and thus project. But it will be sold without the frame, because with the frame the size of the painting does not correspond to the postal shipping standards. Condition: the still life is in good condition considering its age, no accidents, the cardboard is slightly warped at the top left and once framed, it will return to its original shape. For purists, it could perhaps be cleaned a little more, even if I find that it has an old patina, which is its charm. Size: l 72 cm h 60 cm.
