Mid-century modern vase from Poland, dated to the 1970s, made of pressed glass with a cylindrical shape. The body features a gradient colour transition – from nearly black, broad and gently rounded edges, through smoky brown, to an amber-transparent base. The glass has significant thickness and shine, remaining translucent, and completely clear at the base. Decorative handles made of transparent glass, with organic, flowing lines, are smoothly integrated with the body on both sides. The proportions are geometric, and the details of the handles attract attention with their sculptural character. The surface is smooth and polished. Condition: very good, with no chips, cracks, or signs of restoration, bearing minimal signs of aging typical for the 1970s. This vase is a voice of Polish glass from the 1970s, when experiments with form and colour combined with artisanal bravery. The subtle colour gradient and organic handles evoke the atmosphere of seeking new means of expression, while the glass's shine seems to catch the light like a morning ray on an oak table. The cylindrical form and irregular handles tell a story about a fascination with material and light – a time when function met artistic gesture. The vase could be a striking accent in a mid-century modern lounge, complementing a wooden sideboard from the era, a glass lamp, or geometric ceramics. It can be paired with a single decorative branch or left solo, allowing its sculptural form to take centre stage on a shelf or console. It would also serve as a counterpoint to neutral fabrics and minimalist decorations, bringing out the depth of colour and light-shadow of the glass.
