Rare and authentic domed travel trunk (known as a "hunting chest") from the Napoleon III era, bearing its magnificent original label inside: "Fabrique Générale d'Articles de Voyage & de Chasse - PH. DREVET - Paris", located at 106 Boulevard de Sébastopol. This famous Parisian manufacturer received the 1st Bronze Medal at the 1867 World Exposition (medals visible on the historical label). Structure made of solid wood with curved reinforcement slats, corner brackets, and original iron side handles. • Dimensions of the structure / Dimensions: • Total Length: 86 cm. • Width: 52 cm. • Height with domed lid: 65 cm. • Weight: • Estimated weight: ~20 kg (excluding protective packaging) • Condition (Important): Trunk sold strictly as is, ideal for restorers or lovers of raw and industrial patina. The wooden structure from 1867 remains solid, but the object shows significant signs of age. Outside: The iron hasp (the articulated closure that protects the lock) is missing on the right lock. The original black canvas shows heavy wear, friction, and significant tears along the slats. The fittings and decorative nails are heavily oxidised. Inside: The superb original printed geometric fabric (blue and white pattern) is intact under the lid with its historical label, but it hangs in tatters on the side panels and has completely disappeared from the bottom of the trunk, leaving the wooden boards bare. Old traces of woodworm (object treated preventively). Sold without a key.
