Czechoslovak Opaline Glass and Gold Pendant Light, 1970s

Vintage opaline glass pendant light produced in Czechoslovakia during the 1970s. The rounded white glass shade features a richly textured surface accented by a decorative gold-colored geometric diamond band. The combination of opaline glass, sculptural form and graphic decoration gives the fixture a distinctive Mid-Century Modern character while producing a pleasantly diffused warm light when illuminated. The pendant retains its white plastic ceiling canopy. The electrical wiring has been renewed and the fixture is fitted with one E26/E27 socket, making it compatible with both European and US electrical systems.
