A pair of earthenware barbotine plates from the Longchamp factory, showcasing the decorative craftsmanship of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, reflecting a rich and expressive decorative work centred around a floral motif. Each plate features a large relief leaf in celadon green hues, finely modelled, accompanied by a rim adorned with a delicately polychrome floral frieze on a deep blue background, punctuated by small red berries. An interesting detail: the two pieces are not strictly identical. Subtle variations can be observed in the modelling, relief, and hues, revealing a production where handwork and firing impart uniqueness to each piece — the charm of barbotine. The edge is highlighted with a warm brown line, which structures the whole and enhances its authentic character. There is an embedded marking of 1107 G and Longchamp, which is not very visible but present. In good vintage condition, with some discreet signs of age, micro-wear, small points related to firing, light signs of use, well-preserved reliefs, and very legible decoration (see photos). Diameter 21.5 cm. Authentic charm, perfect for a vintage botanical decoration that is both current and embodies a reimagined country house spirit and material aesthetics.
