Vintage biot vase in double blown blue glass, coloured dot, design 2000 signed "arnold biot"

This superb vase is made of dark blue bubbled glass and lined with coloured glass dots. It features a beautiful rounded shape. It is a work by contemporary glassmaker Arnold Cognet from the 2000s, created in BIOT. It is mouth-blown using a traditional technique characteristic of BIOT glassmaking. At the base, you can see the mark of the break from the blowing cane. Arnold Cognet trained at the glass school in Moulins, in central France, where he obtained his glassmaker diploma in 1989. He quickly joined the Biot glassworks to complete his training by learning the bubbled glass technique. He worked in Biot for 15 years, until 2005, when he took over the Montauroux glassworks and established his art studio there. This vase is signed "ARNOLD - BIOT 2001". In excellent condition, this vase measures 16 cm in height and 10 cm in diameter.
