Opaline di Firenze, Murano style Midcentury Modern Vase, 1969, Italy

The vase is crafted using the traditional *Incamiciato* technique: a layered design featuring an opaque, milky-white opaline interior and a red exterior, punctuated by hand-blown black vertical bands. The manual crafting process causes the pigment to stretch uniquely in places, creating a lively, organic pattern. This is the rare, large oval version (flattened ovoid); blowing the glass into this specific shape required exceptional craftsmanship. Its authenticity is immediately evident from its weight and the original, rough pontil mark on the base.
