Large Murano glass table lamp by Carlo Nason for Mazzega, Italy 1970s

Large impressive table lamp in excellent condition. Designed by Carlo Nason in the 1970s and manufactured by Mazzega, Italy. The lamp consists of three handblown clear and white textured Murano glass tubes, each holding one bulb. The tubes rest on a heavy white metal base. The generous proportions of the lamp make a bold statement in any space, instantly becoming the focal point of your room. The handblown opal glass is mixed with more transparent glass, creating a mesmerizing visual display when illuminated. The lamp not only serves as a source of light but also as a captivating sculpture. Murano glass, also known as Venetian glass, is handmade blown glassware crafted using special methods, techniques, and tools from silica, soda, lime, and potassium melted together in a special furnace. This glass-making process was invented in Venice over 1, 000 years ago and still survives today.
