Set of 6 handmade ceramic deep plates in glazed beige D19.5 H4

Set of six handmade ceramic deep plates, probably from the second half of the 20th century. Low, rounded shape with a slightly irregular rim, interior covered with a light beige glossy glaze that is slightly speckled. The exterior and underside feature tones of terracotta, brown, and beige, with noticeable variations from one piece to another and visible turning marks. The contrast between the light glazed interior and the more raw clay of the exterior highlights the construction of each plate and creates beautiful material effects. This aesthetic is part of the revival of utilitarian ceramics and table stoneware from the 1960s-1970s, characterised by simple forms and an emphasis on the irregularities of handmade production. Their clean design, thick rim, and rustic materiality give them an almost brutalist presence, making them interesting today for serving pasta, soups, or saucy dishes, paired with natural linens, raw wood, or metal cutlery.
