Magnificent ancient wooden mask from Kenya. Very large skull finely crafted. The sides of the skull and the chin are darkened to evoke hairiness. The nose, eyes, and mouth are prominent. Large pierced and dangling ears. Metal nails adorn the ears, nose, and forehead. Very beautiful patina. The whole exudes an exceptional balance and beauty. Rare among African masks, it is signed JUMBO, located in Kenya, and dated 1989. Very good condition, with only two small missing pieces of wood on the back of the mask.
