Barovier & Toso Murano blown glass lantern with 24k gold and brass, 1960s

Mid-century lantern made by Barovier & Toso. The piece consists of a main body of hand-blown Murano glass with 24-carat gold flecks suspended in the glass mass. The technical structure consists of a brass cage outlining the contour of the glass, finished with decorative spherical terminals at the upper and lower edges. At the top is a second, smaller blown glass element with the same gold flecks. The construction allows for a warm diffusion of light through the texture of the glass. The height is adjustable via the chain. Rewired. Ready for use in the USA. Dimensions: 46 X 27 cm / 18.11 X 10.63 in. Total length with chain: 80 cm / 31.5 in.
