Pierre Bochot was born in Dijon on 23 January 1906. He had been drawing since the age of four. As an adult, he became a painter, sculptor, and writer. His first novel, "The Clamp, " was published in 1933. This was followed by the notebooks of a fighter: "The People's Volunteers." Two major investigations: "Childhood '39" and "Their Daily Hunger." "At Home" is a book written in captivity, and a second novel, "The Forces of the Heart, " was published by Julliard. "I always have nostalgia for the whole earth, " he said, and his generous spirit led him to join the "Citizens of the World" movement. Captured, he took part in the resistance by clandestinely disseminating news and organising escapes. After the war, Pierre and Andrée Bochot went to Guadeloupe, where both taught; she taught music, and he taught drawing. It was in this beautiful country that he experienced a period of intense creativity that would mark all his work. "He was able to carry that wonderful clarity in his retinas, in his soul, and to restore it against the landscapes of Provence, which appear to us in a new light, towards radiant and pure sensations." A poetic realism that does not exclude research, beautiful harmonies, and a firm structure. The means are personal and can lead him to the edges of the abstract, felt as a means and not an end, to achieve sorts of visual poems of a very distinguished vibration. In Paris and in the provinces, Pierre Bochot held numerous solo painting exhibitions, while his wife Andrée, a pianist and laureate of the Paris Conservatoire, gave concerts there.
