A belle époque charm to place on a shelf or garnish with garden flowers or on a table in a stylish pitcher. This slip pitcher is signed faïencerie d'onnaing, a famous manufacturer in the north of france, active from 1821 to 1938, and is beautifully decorated with raised roses in a range of pink and green, typical of the art nouveau style. Marked intaglio "776" and stamped onnaing - made in france under the base, it bears the words "onnaing - made in france" intaglio under the base, which allows it to be dated to the years 1900–1910. The words "made in france" appear from 1891, particularly for export, and here corresponds to an art nouveau production typical of the belle époque. An authentic piece and representative of the know-how of the onnaing faience factory at its peak. Slip glazing, a highly prized relief colored earthenware technique at the end of the 19th century, allowed manufacturers to produce decorative pieces rich in texture and color. Onnaing excelled in this art, with exuberant and naturalistic models, which have become highly sought after by collectors today. Its richly decorated angular handle, its hexagonal shape and its deep hues oscillating between olive green, brown and amber accompanied by a powerful raspberry pink inside, make it a piece of character that attracts all eyes. The glossy earthenware, the floral motifs and the raised details testify to the expertise of the manufacturer at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Very good condition, slight signs of use on the base consistent with age, very shiny glaze, no chips or cracks. Height: 19 cm.
