Sofa by Ole Wanscher for J. Jeppesen, Denmark, 1950s

A very rare 2-seater sofa designed by Ole Wanscher, manufactured by J. Jeppesen in Denmark around 1950. This impressive piece is really well made by one of the greatest Danish designers. It has elegant, tall wooden legs and the seat is upholstered in high quality cognac leather, fitting the design perfectly and matching really nicely with the upholstery. The elegant shapes that give it a classical yet modern touch are iconic for this designer’s style. This extremely rare piece will really draw the attention in the decor and is a fantastic find for any design enthusiast! It has the manufacturer’s tag underneath as well as the Danish Quality Control tag, as shown in photos. It remains in good, vintage condition. It has a repair at the lower left side, as shown in photos. Further wear is minor and consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
