Original vintage sz01 armchairs (rattan) designed by martin visser and produced by ’t spectrum, netherlands 1980s. The minimalist industrial brushed steel tube frame forms a beautiful contrast with the craftsmanship of woven white artificial cane (wicker). Martin visser (1922-2009) is one of the most famous dutch furniture designers. From 1954 he became head designer at spectrum (1941 bergeyk). Visser makes sleek designs with a functional approach. His designs have long been defining for the spectrum collection. In december 1998 martin visser’s career was rewarded with the oeuvre prize for design. Condition: good vintage condition. The rattan is intact. However, both chairs have a small crack in the artificial cane at the front of the frame/ end of the rattan. Some minor signs of use on the frame.
