Mid-Century Art Glass Vase by Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta, Sweden, 1970s

Stunning mid century modern sommerso art glass vase designed by Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta (Sweden, 1960s/70s). This beautiful vase is made of thick green, yellow and blue glass surrounded by transparent glass. It is extremely decorative. Height: 16.5 cm; width: 9 cm; depth: 6 cm. Quite heavy (1, 4 kg). Excellent vintage condition. Some air bubbles and tiny scratches. "Sommerso" (Italian for ''submerged'') is a technique developed in Murano which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a transparent layer.
