Vintage lamp base "Dong Tam" Ceramic from Vietnam

Lamp base in handcrafted ceramic, originating from Dong Tam (Vietnam), mid-20th century. An authentic piece ideal for bohemian, ethnic, or vintage decor. Symbolic decoration of 3 different stylised Koi carp in relief against a background of circular waves. "For a little history, in Asian tradition, the Koi carp is a powerful symbol of perseverance, courage, and success, as it swims upstream against the current to transform into a dragon." Origin: presence of the Dong Tam label, which is a well-known ceramic production centre in Vietnam (often associated with the Bien Hoa or Bat Trang regions). Technique: Hand-incised and glazed decoration (cobalt blue, ivory, and black). Very good condition. Height 16 cm. Width 16 cm. Weight: 1.2 kg. Presence of a drilling hole at the base and a notch for the electrical wire, also a very decorative object even without being used as a lamp.
